Default DS650 Back Brakes

I just rebuilt the rear swing-arm after the nut that holds the Axel backed out after going over a fallen tree. After reassembling I found that I have no back brakes and the foot petal goes down to the peg. The pads only have 1 ride on them so thats not it. I tried to bleed the system with the same result. No fluid leaking anywhere. I am thinking it is the master cylinder and it is only a coincidence that it failed at the same time.

What do you guys think?

Thanks,

-Moose

Have you looked at the calipier - is it trying to move when you press down on the pedel ??

I would doubt that you need a new calipier. I would first try removing the hose from the calipier and getting some fluid threw it. If that works try bleeding it hooked up to the calipier. I still think it is air in the system, it can be hard to bleed and watch the master it will empty in about 2 pumps when bleeding.

Good Luck - hope this helps

Do I bleed it just like a car? Pump the petal a few times, hold then loosen the bleeder valve on the caliper until no more fluid comes out than tighten and do again?

Thanks,

pump it and put pressure or have some1 hold the pedal and then loosen the bleeder valve...but make sure that you don't run out of fluid so you will need to put more in...If it doesn't seem to be this then I would say that either the caliper is bad, slave cylinder is bad, or you are getting air in the system some other way like the resi.
