On my quest to lower rotating mass I emailed smimotorsports.com to get a price on some bead to beads and some weights.

22x11x8 8 paddle Extremes Bead to Bead on .160's are 2 pounds lighter each tire, so 4 pounds of rotating mass that way. The only thing I am trying to get out of smi is if these will hold up to jumping and the concrete jaunts at silver lake.

This would be about 8 pounds TOTAL of rotating mass lighter than what I am running now. What is the figure that everyone touts, rotating mass equals how much effective horsepower?
Go with a set of 9 paddle brats and you will lose a couple more pounds

The comp cut ones that cost like $500? Isn't there only one place that sells them? How do they hook up compared to the haulers? How durable are they?

I got the Extremes in 22X11X10 8 paddle double buff bead to bead from SMI. I'm replacing the 22X11X10 Sand Stars I had on Red Label wheels with these on Black Label wheels. I weighed the Sand Stars on Reds and they were exactly 37Lbs. When my Extremes come in I will weigh them and let you know what they weigh.

Going from from Red to Black Labels on the front wheels saved me 2.5 Lbs total. I did not get a chance to weigh the Red Label rear wheels without the tires as I sold them as a set.

I just ordered a 520 aluminum rear sprocket from Ron Woods. I also ordered a DID 520 ERT2 after reading about Dunittiludie using it. Its an unsealed chain, but I figure with care it should last as well as the aluminum sprocket plus less friction. I will throw the complete 530 with stock sprockets, the 530 with an aluminum sprocket and my 520 set up on my scale when it gets here and post the results.

I looked at that chain a long time, it was my second choice. Do not forget that in your weight you need to add 8 or 10% to the DID weights as the chain is going to be either a 108 or 110 link chain not 100 like the weight is listed for.

Yeh, I was comparing all the weights at 100 links just to get an idea, either way it will be lighter than stock, that is for sure. DSEngineer stated on the first page a stock 04+ chain is 104 links. Should I just order 104 or order a few more, how easy is it to cut a couple links off?

Just count the links you have now on your stock chain....

Its always better to order a few more links than you need and cutoff what you dont. I bought 110 link and cut off 6 of them

Ok, here are some more weights.

Stock Chain and sprockets = 7Lbs 9oz

Stock chain with an Aluminum 42 tooth rear Sprockets = 6Lbs 13.5oz for a savings of 11.5oz over stock.

520 chain (DID ERT2 108 links like my stock) Aluminum Rear sprocket = 4Lbs 5oz for a savings of 3Lbs 4oz over stock

Or a savings of 2Lbs 8.5oz over a Stock chain with an aluminum 42 tooth rear sprocket.

So, I have saved 2Lbs 8.5oz over what I had and its rotating!!
