And a ds250 that has a title that says ORV won't ever be street legal.

Although, I could see the advantage of that on I35 about 5 o'clock. Spent way too much time just sitting waiting for traffic to move. A foot.

Sorry to say this man, But that is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.... Why would you want to put a +18 over swing arm on a ds250. Why would you want to widen it 30" a side? and make a little car out of it. Also you will never get 80 to 90 mpg out of that thing. It would be lucky to run 15 mph. Not to bash you or anything but maybe you should think about these things first. Seems like alot of wasted time and money.

I have to apologize for these guys, udd, they're so use to threads going awry they often respond as tho someone is lurking behind the next "turn" waiting to sucker punch them. In my opinion, you need a whole new breed of swingarm like none of "us" have ever considered (buying) to accomplish your sponsored mission. Your overall goal I personally think is doable but not without a blueprint detailing designed and finished power to weight ratio, aerodynamics, SAFETY, etc. I'm no engineer but you might be so if you haven't considered a lattice style swingarm I think you should for both weight savings and strength, and for rear suspension maybe air ride.

For all you Nay-sayers, I want you to rent and watch this weekend, "The Worlds Fastest Indian", with Anthony Hopkins. A true story and one of our (me and the wifes) favorites...FYI, a great film for the whole family...

just dune it!

haha ofc put a busa engine in it lol...there is no reason to even put a +18 swingarm on a ds 250 since it is underpowered as mentioned before and you would have to re engineer the whole rear shock and chain and fabricate the swingarm...I personally wouldn't go through all the trouble of doing this and to make it street legal you would be better off trying to place a few blinkers on it and a horn then to fabricate pretty much a gocart/car out of a ds250...anyhow welcome to the forums

With a DS 250 your going to end up with a bent and broken frame, it wasnt designed to add 30" TO ONE SIDE and REMOVE the opposite side rear wheel! We can all see what your trying to make here, a side style car 3 wheeler with one power wheel out the back. Your better off making a frame and if you have your heart set on the taiwan engine that Cam-Am had to go with, then whatever, you wont be happy. And the whole need to extend the swingarm for a passenger to fit behind the driver.......no need to do that. Think of it this way, you can ride doubles right now and it probably would take some effort to wheelie, not to mention after you add 30" wide of material to the front end....there is the extra ballast you needed to make it not wheelie anymore.

If you said you had a utility quad with some decent engine displacement like a 500 and up, then you would get alot more support from the forum.

This project is doomed,......sorry Dave.

Dude, that sounds like the coolest thing going!!! hope it works for you. ignore the ney sayers here, you chase your dream... even if it is a bit outlandish. the worlds fastest Indian is truly inspirational and should be watched by the whole family. i do agree that you are starting with the WRONG machine for this. to bad you live out of my state, this sounds like fun to build. you should really run this idea through a cad system & have an enginer check it out so you don't die if something goes wrong at the speeds you are hoping for. the only way you will get the speed you are looking for is if it is on a truck or you throw it off a cliff. all you other bullies should not try to deflate this guy dreams(even if they are delusional) what do you think the masses thought when they heard of putting a busa motor in a ds???? retarded? we know differant don't we? just my 2 cents good luck!!!
