+18 extended swingarm for DS250?
I know that sounds crazy, but these things are made for fun, right? I'm customizing the heck out of my "little" DS250. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to go about putting that long of a swingarm onto my quad? Any links to fabricators? Any suggestions as to how to do it myself (with welding)? Anybody want to do it for me? Anybody sell extended swingarms that long for any ATV? I may do this many more times to many more ATV's.
BTW, I'm new to this forum. Howdy from Austin, Texas.

Welcome to the forums Underdogdave.
Sorry but I think it will trash the quad in the long or short run. For the money you'll spend on a custom Swingarm you'd be better of sinking it into performance mods.
I personally don't think the 250 could be modded enough for a +18" swingarm.

Helpful advice. Thanks. The little beast has lots of torque. I'm not modding for offroad (maybe obvious) or for dragging. I'm trying to make it a street-legal commuter vehicle, so it will strictly be used on roads. What would ya'll think would be the max extension the DS250 could handle? I think I would need at least 12".
This may sound even crazier, but I'm widening the front track by about 30" to the left, cutting off the right rear wheel, having the driver sit next to the engine, and enclosing it all in with a fiberglass monocoque "tub", car windshield, and plexiglass canopy. I want to lengthen the wheelbase so I can easily fit a passenger behind the driver.

Dave the DS 250 is the last vehicle I would use for this purpose it is way under powered but to each his own. If you acomplish this feat make sure you post pics of it and then you will have to change your sign on name to SUPER DAVE any quad fab shop in Texas should be able to do it for you but setting up your rear shock will require quite a bit of engineering with that much leverage.
Good luck with your build.
