DS 650 has a 16 tooth front sprocket and 530 chain.

Can't wait to see pics!

UnderDog, I just read this entire post for the first time. I think some of you guys have been alittle tough on this guy, although it does seem like an engineering nightmare!

I bet the Wright Brothers were glad that back in their day, forums weren't around!! LOL
They made a crazy idea work!

It's a pretty entertaining read, though. I'm the first one to admit it may not work with this model, but it wouldn't be the last time I try this idea if it doesn't work this first time.

FatHolley (or anyone with a DS650 who knows), what's the biggest front sprocket that you know of for the 650? Does the 650's front sprocket have 6 flat(ish) teeth on the inside ring where it fits on the shaft? I'm just wondering if the sprockets for the 650 are interchangeable with its baby brother 250. Don't suppose someone could email me pics and/or measurements of the 650's front sprocket. davenevland@yahoo.com

The countershaft sprockets are different. They ds250 and 650 have nothing that will interchange.

Your going to have to get something totally custom. Try sidewinder or sprocket specialists.

Thanks for the tip about Sidewinder. They're making some sprockets for me.

By the way, if anyone wrecks or rolls their DS250, I have some parts I can sell you cheaper than you could get at the dealer. The tires and rims are gone, but I still have the fenders, front bumper, footpeg assemblies, airbox assemblies with hoses and clamps, rear frame, handle bars with grips, and other small parts.

Oh yeah, where can I find some youth racing their DS250's? I bet they have more of a chance of wrecking their ATV's and thus needing my parts.
