I'll be picking up a "work in progress" DS this weekend. The guy I'm getting it from says that one of the valves isn't closing all the way. Is that something that is easy to fix? I've rebuilt several motors, but they've all been ATC's that are 20 years old, so I'm assuming this will be a little different. Second, he says that the one way bearing on the starter is going bad. It starts, but every now and then it "lets go" when trying to start. I've searched the web trying to find an actual manual for it, but haven't had much luck. I did order one of those manuals on CD, but I sure would like to have the book.
I'm a big guy (6'6", 237pounds) and I think this DS is gonna be spot on for me, but I have to get the kinks worked out of the quad first. This will be the first quad I have owned. I've always been a 3-wheeler guy and still have my "pumped up" 86 350x, but I wanted something that would keep up with all my buddies and their 450's.

i ordered the manual from my dealer. super detailed, very easy to follow. i recently did a full tere down to replace the shift shaft. all went well. the place i went for parts was : bike bandit.com they hadevey thing, all oem and much cheaper than the dealer. good luck on your project sounds like it should be fun.
