Default Renegade compared to Outlander 800

A friend of mine recently rode my Renegade and loved it, and is thinking about buying a Outlander 800. Can anyone tell me if the power on the Outlander 800 comes on as as strong as the Renegade or is the Renegade a little snappier for whatever reason?

There isnt much of a diff. since they are the same motor. The Renegade is 42lbs lighter givin it a little bit of a advantage. Renegades IRS is more stiffer lettin it take off from start quicker. The clutchin is different, but not too much

Renegade is 40 lbs lighter (110 lbs lighter than XT pkg), better suspension, some clutch work, same engine.

The std outy 800 will run with the renegade, but can't beat it in a drag. Let's face it, they're the same bike with the differences above. Sure the renegade is going to win, but not by a whole lot.

I got the 800XT cause I don't care about top end, don't even know what it will do. It's got the features I want. Tell your friend to get the upgrade shocks and springs thrown in by the dealer, don't pay extra for canam's suspension screwup. Also, you both need ricochet skid plates, definitely, or take a chance on screwing up your bottom main frame member.

The oem front short springs will sag to where they are closed, might as well be a piece of pipe there, no 12" ground clearance for sure. Your suspension is good, he needs the upgrade shocks at least all the way around, with oem rear short springs in the front too, throw oem front short springs, and shocks, in the trash where they belong.

If I were he, I would get the Outy over the Renegade, but I'm older than you guys, it fits my needs great! Best atv I've ever ridden! Luv my Outy!
