question on changing a sproket

So are you putting a 14 tooth on the front? When I put mine on I had to grind off a link for a master, does your chain have a master link?
So to answer your question no you do not need a breaker, just a grinder, but they do help to remove the link. You can get em from Rockymountain for under $20.00 .

The clip on the master link should be on the inside, but since you are only going yo a 15 tooth you should be ok, I also ran a 15 for a long time. But when 2nd gear started slipping I had to gear down to use 3rd when hillshooting. After my build I will be putting a15 tooth back on.

if you are useing a 15 tooth up front you should not have to shorten the chain at all.... I didn't. if you put the master link you MAY want to get an extra one or at least the retaining clip as i wasted mine getting it off the first time.
