ditto maxxedouty.
That's a bummer fctyson0. Now we know what the limits of the Outy are tirewise, especially when stuck in the snow. Tough way for us to learn it. Bummer. What made you suspect snow into the exhaust hole of the cvt?
I've not heard anything about weak clutches or helix, just about how to work on them.

06 Outlanders have a 2 piece design for the cam but the 07 has the single piece. There have been some reports on this cam/helix grenading and destroying the CVT cover in the process, but never heard of it happening on an 07.
If your helix grenaded on you, dealer should cover it under warranty.

I just put 27' outlaws on mine, I haven't experienced any problems as of yet. I didn't even know you could go that large (29.5) on the outlander. I only have about an inch to an inch and a half of clearance on the rear plastic behind my foot. I also got the radiator relocate from Highlifter. I am looking forward to tackling some serious mud. My machine is an 06. I purchased it on october 8th of 05. Can you tell me where I can go to find a recall list on my model year?

Yes you can get snow dust into your clutchs, I have a guy I work with that has one with 27" said he was getting snow dust in the clutchs. Easy fix go buy a universal air filter and install it on the intake, and if you think it's coming in the exshaut side then put one on there too.
I have never heard of a problem so far with the helix's or seen and bulletins on them, and I work at a Can Am dealer. Funny how everyone else on here has though.
You should condiser a clutch kit, it will make your belt last longer and regain some lost power.
