I thought it would be good to here all the problems the ds650's have had from the factory for all the years of production. If you know one let me know

 

I know the 04-05-06's dont have problems if any at all.Mine wasnt right with the swing arm being able to move it side ways.Something was wrong with the rubber bushing or something.I actually took it in the be tuned up after the break in period.And then they fixed that for me too.

Oil changes suck and there were quite a few problems with the rear stock axle bearings seizing up, My .02

 

Earlier DS's had a bad chain roller, weaker air boot from carb to airbox, some trouble with cooling fans, sucky stock tires.

I think all years have a not so good battery..replacement with a Odessey does wonders.

Also, I think the earlier models have a slight twitchy problem in the front end...several ways that can be addressed.

I have a 2000...not one failure that hasn't been caused by yours truely or wear and tear!

 

04x electrical issues from day1 for 2 yrs ...finally found and fixed it...finally think by running a strap to ground it better,,so far so good 4 months

 

7500+ miles only replaced chain roller and tires. I will als be getting a new battery this spring, the original is finally dead. Best atv I have ever owned.

 

my 2002 Baja never gave me 1 problem and i didnt cause, if i left that thing stock i bet everything would be runnin 100%, course u change ur norms like the air filter and tires, i still have my stock battery and still goes strong, course im in a big project right now, but my main stuff is still stock... just powdercoated now [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

Ive owned my 03 Baja for about a year now and cant complain one bit! Just normal wear and maintence like valve adjustment and changing the oil!
