here are some of the brb atv horsepowers off of rotax.com very accuarate!

Renegade/Outlander 800 = 60hp

Outlander 650 = 56hp

DS650 = 49hp

Outlander 500 = 39hp

Outlander 400 = 30hp

thats alright I still knew what you were saying...pretty cool, but are the hp numbers for the ds the newer models or older?

Its the engine in general . They have the same power . Its off the rotax site . 49hp stock .

Is the hp for the Outtys based at the crank or the rear wheel?

Well the newer engines have more rpms then the older ones, but other then that I believe the engines are the same.

Yep thats what my title says is 49hp.And yeah engines are same.But newer ones have lightened parts like hubs ect and the higher rpm rev box..If you line up a 2001 with a 2006 x the x will take it assuming there equall and that blah blah stuff.And the old ds is usless with them crappy dominator tires i think there called.

on the brp site they rate the bikes in NEWTON METERS NOT HORSEPOWER!
