Default Sidewinder Junk

I purchased a complete set of sidewinder stuff (chain and both sprockets) 3 years ago. I was told at the time that it was the last set I will ever buy. Thinking that would be nice not having to replace sprockets again I went for it. Well 3 years later both sprockets are hooked bad.
Now I know stuff does where out, but the Sidewinder crap wore out faster then the stock/aftermarket stuff I had before. Sidewinder is $49.95 for a front sprocket and Rocky Mountain is $9.00.

Sidewinder will never see another nickel from me !!!!

I just bought the sidewinder 520 timoly kit because it is warrantied for life. But 3 years on a chain and sproket set with your mods kit ain't bad IMO

I'd call em and get a new set coming.

I called them and they told me the same thing - 3 years is good wear.

I don't have a problem replacing sprockets every 3 years, but why pay 5 times more for stuff that wears out just as fast !!!

WOW- I was really considering picking that kit up too! I just looked at the site again and it does say 100% against BREAKAGE!, not wear. Just curious about how many hours you think you put on in those years?

Its hard to say on hours since I have installed the new chain and sprockets. I would think it would be equal or less then the orginal set. I ride a lot less since I moved 3 years ago.

Another thing to note I have had to shorten the sidewinder chain 2 times now (cut out 1 link) because I it had streached so much I could not tighten it.

I have to say it sounded too good to be true. Maybe you could snap a tooth off each sprocket and send it to them. Its amazing the spectrum of feedback that Sidewinder gets, its all over the board, from hate them crooks, to best thing since sliced bread.
