May DirtWheels - Shootout between the Renegade, Raptor and Griz. They weighed the Renegade at 800 pounds. (Griz at 600, Raptor at 400). They mention the 800 pound weight four times in the article and refer to the overweight and heavy feeling Renegade several more times. Two things wrong here:

#1. The Renegade weighs 600 pounds. They did get it right in the specs, probably photocopied right from Can-Am without reading.

#2. These are "experienced" ATV testers? They've tested the Outlander 800 in the past (640 pounds). Any "experienced" ATVer would know to suspect an 800 pound weight reading, especially on a machine that takes a 640 Outlander and strips it down to make a 4x4 sport quad out of it. Let's see.....640 pound outlander, loose the racks and shave some plastic and we get......800 pounds!

Come on DirtWheels, what did you do - Leave one of those 200 pound test riders on board at weigh-in time?

They always have a lot of typos and misstated facts. Have since I first started reading the mag in the mid 80's and 20 years hasn't changed much, lol.

Either they made a mistake or they telling it like it is or as you said that was with a rider on it!!!!! As I read it, they didn't seem to give it the credit it deserves, it has superior performance to a Grizzly and will beat a Raptor in power and wont get stuck as easy as a Raptor, and if you do you still have four wheel drive. What more could you ask for without sacrificing something else.

I just looked that article over and it is without a doubt the worst review I have ever read. Another confirmed kill by drive-by journalism.

They will correct the errors in about 3 months on page 97.

Kind of like reading Truck Trend and hearing about how much better Ford is than any other truck.......at EVERYTHING!! lol

Unfortunately ATV MAGAZINE and ATV 4-WHEEL ACTION don't proof or research their products either.I think my daughters elementary school could do better and I'd probably put money down on that.In these recently(and previously)released magazines, same mag, just a different article in the magazine they have totally different specs. and conclusions about the same machine! And these are national magazines, what a sad state of affairs. You know, if they were a little more professional about their work they may create a larger customer base but with the proof reading and research currently in place no wonder they are all third rate magazines IMO!
