Default need help!!! getting burn't on repairs!!!!

took my quad to get it diagnosed for a blown head gasket or a leaking radiator? signed a seviice agreement that stated
if not covered by warranty call the owner, no repairs to be done without my permission...........well a week goes by havn't heard anything yet so
i call them, to find out that bombardier would cover the radiator{cause it has a pinhole}and both head gaskets are blown,,,,they said we've
already got the head gaskets changed out, they we're not covered by the warranty ,so you owe us $525.89. and when we put in the radiator there will be
another 100.00 bucks and it will be another 2 weeks before its done . where does this guy get off???
DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY SUGGESTENS besides burning, beating or just completely loosen it??????

Get all the facts. . . have him fax you a copy of the work order (so you have a copy before you go in there. . . )

What kind of quad do you have??? Two head gaskets??? The DS will only have one. . . I assume you ave a V-Twin?

If you ran it without coolant the head gaskets could be shot. . . If the leak in the radiator was a mfgr. defect they could charge you for the head gasket and they pay for the radiator. . . is the warranty parts only? Is there a deductable?

a ds650 ,and my bad it was the head gasket and the base gasket, i called brp and they told me if it was a mfg. defect that they would honor it but i had to have a shop do a dianosis on it to determine the exact problem. so i already had a case # and when we dropped it off they took all the info and a week later told me there was confusion and they had already fixed the head gaskets buthadnt contacted brp when they did brp said they will only honor the radiator and no labor and thats when i started getting screwwed w no lube.it wasnt my mistake but offered t meet them over halfway on it and they thought i was nuts so when i told him that it was there mistake and ill take my bike back in the same condition i droppedit off in he basicly told me he could do that but the top end would be in a box, so im about ready to flip

.

sorry dude...the only suggestions i thought of, you already said. Only in a different order...you have to first completly loose it, then beat the guy down and anyone that tries to step in, and then burn the place . Plead Insanitly, due to the mental stress they caused you and you will be finished playing with Corky Stienbrenner in a few years. No big deal...and you will get your quad back and it will be fixed.

Anyway...that really sucks a ford dealer did that to me! took mine in for tire rotation and new brake pads. And they did what they call "The Royal Flush" (King is part of the dealerships name)! I was put out almost $1,800 and I was just 17 years old. I didn't know what $700 looked like, much less that much money. Anyway, somehow I got my truck back (good as new) and some dude lost his job, and I still have never seen what 1800 looks like! LOL!

sounds like a plan. I'll borrow my brother's uniform and I will be your police escort. Can I bring the 50 cal. insted of the little H&K though? It would just be for looks though....I promise....
Good Luck Man...I don't think they could even take that to court really...it wouldn't be worth their time. If it is...I think they need to find a line of work where they can make money some way besides scamming ppl. and hopefully for more that 6 or 800 dollars!!! I mean that is a lot for a regular dude like me...don't get me wrong..but for a business....that shouldn't be worth going to court over!!! Ya Know. Just get your d@mn bike back!

I HATE WHEN THIS HAPPENS!!!!! the thing to do is buy a service manual & do the work your self. if you can walk & chew gum at the same time, you can fix your quad. i used to be nervous about tearing into my quad but a good service manual made the differance. there are very few of the "specialty" tools that you realy need to buy. bike bandit.com has all the oem parts at a good price & quick shipping. when i blew the tranny out it would have cost over $1300 in a shop , but i did it myself in 2 saturdays for $350 + the $80 manual. anytime you have to depend on a shop, you take your chances at being screwed. you do not really know what they are going to do or if they did what they said. and if you run into a problem, you can always come here to ask the questions. there is more "real" knowledge in this forum than in any shop and the help you get here is free.
