Am I the only one stayin up to watch this thing???? dual cam 4 valve (aprilla i think he said?) rotax motor, biggest bore, biggest throttle bodies 46mm, biggest valves 38mm, dual sparkplugs. On the chart they had it looked like the 450r made more power bottom-mid range then on top the ds450 pulled ahead and then kept going while the 450r maxed out. But then again jeremy schell is saying its quicker out of the gate but he's being payed by can-am so who knows. Ewwwwwwww. It looks like somebody sat on the front plastic and then put the ugliest headlights possible on it. Looks too much like a ds250, but it moves thats for sure.

Based on the data they gave us in comparison to the TRX450, at a 15% better power to weight ratio and 9% power advantage, that extrapelates to 333 lbs dry.

Not a very accurate way to get that number........I wish they would just tell us what it weighs and how much power it is making.

The throttle body and valve sizing is very promising. I realize they say the pipe is very low restriction but at the size of that TB and those valves, that bike will pick up a lot by getting rid of the air box and putting a good pipe on it with appropriate fuel mapping.

Did I understand correctly that an EFI controller is not necessary? That all you have to do is plug the laptop into the stock box and adjust the mapping to suit your modifications?

Interesting ride......

Yeah, he said tuners dream so I hope you can tweak the maps. They compare it to a Honda for power so at 33hp stock + 9% is say 36hp? Really stock dyno tests are useless until it's filtered and exhausted with the maps adjusted accordingly.
The light axle might be the reason Jeremy is getting holeshots. Only 5 lbs less than the YFZ?
I wonder if you could transplant a cylinder and head off a Mille? Instant jump to 500cc and they have run 52 and 54mm throttle bodies.

With the intro of this ds450 motor alone I think this is going to be a winner!!!!!!!!

Apprilla design- 2 plug head. Did you see the sizes of the intake and exhaust vavles??????
The cams are on a bridge like the 650 motor AND IMO the intake port is a take off from the the sport bikes (NO angled down turn into combustion chamber) much better flow design........

It sounds like the EFI controller will be programable (No aftermarket purchase to dial er in) YES

NICE I whana see one when they arrive...............

My thoughts exactly.
Kind of like the old FT500 Ascot jug on the ATC350X engine trick. Man, am I dating myself...

For a light bike, you dont need as much low end power and torque, you'll want more of the HP on top. Looks like they did their homework on the engine too.
