I found a used 400ex I wanted to buy for my son, the guy said the guy he bought it off of was from KY and said they don't have titles there. What do they give you in KY when you buy an ATV? If the seller don't have a title is there a way to get a cert of orgin or anything like that? My problem is when I try to sell it here in IN it is tough to sell an ATV without a pink slip.

 

There's no titling requirement in KY that I know of. I've never had any trouble buying or selling a quad that didn't have a title, I've never had a quad that had a title. besides, Indiana doesn't require a title to register your quad. If it were me, I wouldn't sweat it. If it's what your looking for and the price fine, go for it. Have him make up a bill of sale and call it good. If your worried it might be stolen, call the VIN in to your local police and see.

 

I bought my Predator used in KY and got the Certificate of Origin from him. Thats all I still have and I've registered in the state of Indiana.

Just get a bill of sale with him signing off and check the VIN if your worried about a stolen one.

Probably the only way to get an original CoO is to find out the dealer or check with a friendly dealer on the VIN???
