by " plenty of paddles", Do you mean some aggressive tires, or literally bring extra paddles because of debris in the sand??
An eye opener,is exactly what Im looking for!! Ive been down to LS Oklahoma, and thought that blew away our little Silver Lake dunes. I can only imagine what some real hills look like.

I always take a spare set of tires for each bike when I travel because I can't just go buy the paddles I run at a store. (14 paddle 25"s on 9" rims) I would hate popping a tire on the sharp lava rock and having that bike just sit the rest of the trip!

Gary you will LOVE both Utah and Idaho, yes it is worth it, I have been going to them every year for the past 6 years straight, all the way from Indiana.
As far as paddle durability, I've been running 22" extreme haulers - the same pair 4 years in a row now, never a flat. just gotta dodge the red volcano rocks litered here and there, hit one of those and the tire is toast.
I am leaving for Idaho this coming tuesday and the guiness book of world records is gonna be there cause St. A's is having a big quad parade and are trying to break the record for the most quads in one parade, I heard 2200 is the number they are shooitng for - 3 live bands at camp to boot. Any chance you can load up and take off in 4 days??!!!

Wow,
Ive been known to do that in the past, but with fathers day next weekend, I just cant leave the kids behind. Now, change your plans to the following week, and Im in. LOL How many hours does it take to get to the Idaho from Indiana??? Can you give me the name of the best campground with showers? Also, how long of a haul is it from the camp to the best hills? I only have 2 gallons in the busa, and it doesnt take long at WOT to use that up. Is there hotels close by to trailer back and forth?? I also heard that you cant take your trucks into the park, is that true? As you seen, I like to take my truck into the parks with food and fuel.
Sorry for all the questions, but Im going to try to make the trip in early Sept. I want to go to the Clash of the Titans in October also.

Gary, Desert Oasis has showers, and will soon be the best camp area there. Its under new management. If you dont want showers, the camp at Egin lakes is the best. Paved road through it so not much dust. Picknik tables, concrete pads, fire pit and power hookups. It is right at the start of the big dunes. Desert oasis is about a five minute ride to Thunder, which starts the big dunes. Dont waste your time with Sand Hills. Its too far, and from what I hear, the camping area is going down hill.
