Has anybody had any trouble with or heard of any trouble with the springs rubbing on the front shocks? I have a friend with an 800 Max and he has 300 miles on it. The springs have almost wore a hole through the shocks. Is this a common problem?

are you sure? I know I have gone off a few jumps and hit pretty hard.. my springs did scratch the shocks on one of them but I also hit pretty hard. no danger of a hole forming though from what I see. I have looked at other atv's and seen similar scratches so I don't think its a big deal. Does he ride really hard? do a lot of wheelies and jumps?

I had the same problem with one of my rear shochs on a 400 outy. I tuned the spring
until it was centered around the shock. Problem solved!
