What brings up this question is the fact that I'm in the market for a new on/off road motorcycle, and I've narrowed down my choices to an 08 Kawi KLR650 and a new BMW F650GS. I'm leaning towards the BMW simply because of the engine. I had an 01 DS650, and I loved the engine in that machine. The BMW has the same engine, except for fuel injection, and gets upwards of 70 mpg. I read about one guy with over 125,000 miles on his F650 engine without a rebuild! Now, I'm also in the market for a new ATV, and another DS650 would fit the bill perfectly.

Has anybody tinkered with putting fuel injection on their DS650? It seems like it would be a fairly simple swap since all the parts could come from the BMW motorcycle. The fuel injected 650 puts out 50 hp, so it should also be a bump in power from the carbed 650 engine.

Hello,it is not the same engine you need to put or to chenge a diffrent therottle body and to instel water/air/lambda sensors it is not plug and play.
much beter to put on you ds megasquirt management engine system,kms is make a kit for ds650.
