the 600 gsxr hit 100 hp after 01 its the torque that is low it is less than 50, but the 600 is cheap looks to be plenty on e-bay for less than $500. I'm sure the 1300cc busa would be great but to be honest how many can truely handle that much power. i think a little nitrous would solve that low torque off the line thing. the clutch would probably be a concern though.

Just to clarify, he was saying 50 MORE Hp over the 600.

Bill, If you would have been able to make it to Ds days, you could have seen the difference first hand. It took a 600 in a lighter chassis, and a turbo, to even run with these other bikes!

Personally, I am glad I did not have the Busa built. I like the R1 and Gixxer's much better. They fit better, you dont feel like your riding a horse, and they run right with the Busa.

Bill, I would bet your 720 on the spray would take the 600 easily! Easily! Are you sure you want to step backwards?
Look, the speeds these guys are hitting, are around what I was hitting last year on my mild build 650. BUT, they are full dune trim.

My R1 made 183hp at the crank but in a quad it made 136 on the dyno. A 600 will be lucky to put 75 hp to the rear tires when pulling a heavy quad around in Sand.

If you 600, you will definately need a good power adder like turbo or NOS or you won't run any faster than a strong DS730.

The 1000cc motor is the sweet spot for light weight, good balance and good top end power.

The Busa doesn't have enough rpm range. If you run a lower gear ratio on the 1000cc, you will match the torque of the busa mechanically and you will still carry more mph because you have the rpm's to do so. (10k rpm vs 13k rpm)

The value of the Busa is if a N/A bike doesn't do it for you anymore. If you are running 135 hp and doing 70 - 80 mph up a hill and it just doesn't get the old adrenaline glands pumping, then you need to move on to a Turbo charged application or Nitrous and the Busa is the best choice for that. You don't want to or need to overrev a power adder bike so the low rpm range of the busa is not an issue here and the busa is designed to take 400 hp reliably. They handle it in the Tom Pro rails all the time.

If you want a 350 hp quad that will run with the big triples......buy the busa. If you only want to run with strong alky 7mils, get the 1000cc, then ask them to go duning with you and watch the look on their face! lol

Try making a DS motor run with a fast 7mil

oh im not in favor of the 600, it looks very weak to me, as little tire spin as he is getting out of the hole I'm sure I'd feel very good on the spray. and I've raced a busa i can't believe how fast they are. I was on full spray and didn't need to shift it was already over. the only thing i think is good about the 600 is there cheap. like i said it would be like a banshee rev to the moon but not have the torque to move it's self.

Alls Im saying is we took the team locos laydown gixxer with turbo last time out they went home with memories. And we took the gold on a dunenable DS800 which we thought was running real bad.GO FIGURE.I would be real happy if gary would build a self tunning motor for me.I will say if they would have used noss to overcome the lag it might have been closer. But hindsight is 20/20. And Gents & ladies don't fret it ain't over yet.

PS:The 450 is nice but its for kids REAL MEN RIDE DS"S 650 BASE'D BIKES.

Oh don't cry you sensative ones im just having fun......

Um....lag? There is no lag on a 1000 bike launched at 12,000 rpm! But as you know, setup, setup, setup!
