Peanut Butter Cup Ice Cream

They ran fine in my 2001, Im awaiting them to arrive to measure against a stock set.

 

If the seats are set too deep and it isn't shimmed properly for these cams, the base of the lobe might be sitting on buckets that are too high not allowing the camshaft to rest properly in the journals........

Is there valve clearance?

 

Seems like this valve thing should be something simple???

There was clearence on the buckets, when I put it in the bike. But the weird thing is that it happens with just the clearence test out of the bike. Take the cams place them in the bridge and hold together with your hand and check to see if free spin..... In this case there is not. However the stocker and 109s did.

 

109 are 0.425" lift, those were a 0.435" lift

 

So it sounds like it has nothing to do with the lobes or lift. It sounds like the slot in the bridge where the journals go is too tight for the journals. Cam journals shouldn't vary in diameter. I would put calipers on those and compare the measurement to stockers.

 

Is there anything that would cause either the bridge or the cam to have something change there?

 

Not in that direction......that I can see. The bridge could wear bigger and the cam could wear smaller if top end lubrication was marginal but you would see other signs like grooves in the tops of the buckets and galling and discoloration in the bridge where the journals are supposed to seat.

It almost has to be the cam but calipers will tell for sure.

 

Did ya mail them out yet, if not take a pic next to another DS cam for us to see, im out of extra cams at this time

 

I do have another set of 109s sitting around that I can photo with prior to shipping them out tomorrow afternoon.......
