I had such a race last Halloween, before I did all my eng work, and made quick work of the 700. The guy on the 700 is a friend of mine and he does know how to ride, the 700 is just not made for that.

Another friend of mine raced his bro-in-law on his 700 with some eng work done and he still beat him with an 03 DS that has a k&n, slip-on FMF, 15t front, and they both were on dirt.

 

i think the only chance the 700 has is in the short race through in a mountain and it gets worse.

 

kfx700 up to third gear, then the ds650 says goodbye and starts pulling away. at least thats what i've heard/read

 

As soon as you hit 4th gear on the DS it's good by. Specially if you short shift and hit the powercurve all the way up. Man you're gone!!!

 

If the KFX has a stock bore or a big bore kit, he wins by a bunch. Stock bore kits for a KFX, (700-715-730) only cost $800.00 and makes 60+ HP., so there's lots of them out there, mostly on the east coast.

Stock vrs Stock, DS wins.
