I bought my Baja kit online from Parker Yamaha. It is a BRP kit, with everything you need, including detailed instructions. Cost was around $120. As I recall, they just plug into the existing harness, no splicing required. The instructions call for the aluminum covers (the slotted pieces you see on a Baja) to be riveted together. I went to Home Depot and used some small nuts and bolts instead. Makes it easier to change bulbs when necessary. I know someone has posted a link to detailed instructions with pictures, I would do a search for "Baja Lights" on this forum and see if they come up.

I have converted my 2000 to use a 2005 headlight set up with 2 bulbs. I also installed an extra set of lights - cheapy walmart specials - i think they were 50 bucks. I did put a set of piaa bulbs in the 2nd set of lights. I wired the 2nd set of lights right off the battery with a in line fuse and a switch. I have run the lights for a couple hours of ride time and have not had a problems.
You can see might light set up in my pics.

Has anyone else run the lights off the battery like MRDS650 it sounds fairly easy to do will this end up being a battery problem in the future even if you get some cheapo low power lights?

I feel your pain in the lighting department. I have an 03 and have upgraded to the newer lighting system and baja light kit. It has helped tremendously, but I am still not satisfied. I ride a lot of desert and I am looking for a better system. I know one of the members on this website had a great idea of mounting one hella HID offroad light in the stock headlight position. I am looking to do the same, but going with two and an easily removable light bracket. Not sure if anybody has done this or knows of any kits out there.
