What not to do with your Outty 800....

First off let me say that I am a firm beliviever that any bike with a CVT needs a snorkel kit. Unfortunatly I'm a day late a probable more then a few dollars short. Yesterday I was supposed to go dirtbiking in the local sandpits with a few buddies from work but the crap box wouldn't start, so I brought the quad. After bottoming out the front suspension about 200 times on all the whoops we found a huge open sand field with a bunch of puddles... finally I can have some fun!!!! No !!! There was no fun!!! First puddle I hit was about 10 to 12 feet across and about 5 feet DEEP!! How the hell do you get a mud hole like that? Anyway long story short it flooded and stalled and four of us pulled it out because there was no trees to winch. I new it was full of water we tipped it back and drained the pipe out then I took it home. Today I changed the oil in it four times tossed in some fuel dry and voila... but wait what is that stange noise I hear comming from the CVT box?? I know I'll throw it in gear and see if that helps!!! Totally dumb move doing that. The CVT box filled up with sandy water and turn the slip into GRIP!!! because reverse is the closest from park it slammed into gear and even with the brake on we went flying into the back of my garage, lol, I'm laughing now but I'm sure I screemed like a little girl when I was running over everything behind me including the oil drain pan that had the 8 liters of dirt oil in it. So now I'm not sure what to do, the thing only has 6.5 hoursa on it and I'll never get warrenty for this bonner move. I consider myself pretty mechanical if anyone has advice on how i go about cleaning this mess up. I have a hunting trip in one week and I'll be out some big cash if i don't make it.

The first thing I would do is copy and paste this post over onto the Aurora Wheelers Forum. Lots of Outy guys over there, like 3600, mostly DS guys here. I'll talk to you over there if you haven't already heard what I have to say by the time I see your post.
If the problem is just in the CVT, I would think a good cleaning. And don't beat yourself up too bad, 5' of water would have gotten to the snorkle too. I have more to say, see you over there.
