Default Can-AM or Honda

I am planning on getting my girlfriend an automatic quad and she is trying to decide between an Can-AM DS 250 or a Honda TRX250EX. Which do you think is a better choice? Some differences are:

Can-AM
Weight: 429lbs
Trans: CVT; 1 forward, reverse and neutral

Honda
Weight: 360lbs
Trans: Honda SportClutch; 5-Speed foot shift automatic and reverse

I do like Can-am a lot but I would choose a Honda on this one. There is more after market stuff for it so if she wants or needs more power later on she will be able to with pipe and such. Plus she can learn shift points so if she decides to upgrade to a better performance machine. JMO

I would agree with Cynick on this one. The Honda will be a better choice because of the sport clutch will make moving to a manual clutch machine after much easier.

Also want to make her as comfortable as she can be on a machine and a lighter weight bike will do that and she will probably enjoy it more.

'Dark One', No offense, I will never understand why guys buy girl friends this expensive stuff, when the odds are 100% that within 2 yrs you will have forgotten their name. You're a young guy, and it's a guy thing, I guess I do understand it, but personally will never, ever do it again.

Buy exactly the kind of bike that fits the type broad you want. If she don't want it...... Never forget it's your bike, not her's. canam, honda, it's up to you, not her, cause you'll have the bike a lot longer than you have her. Wise up. No offense. Just get what you want.

I bought my wife a honda 250EX back when they came out, 2001,it sat in the garage until my son was big enough to ride,2004. I would get the honda because if she don't ride much they are fun to do wheelies around the yard. I have had 0 problems with this one.

Yea, the DS is a pretty good bike, and with a few mods it gets better, can't wait to see what the 450 will do.
