You have opened a big can of worms, we all have done some sort of mods all run great. It all depends on what you want dragbike, hillshooter, duner, woods, desert, the list goes on and on.

It comes down to how much $ you want to spend and what you want to do with the bike???????

There are unlimited ways to go fast, it's just your checkbook holding you back, tell us what you're looking to get out of it, 65-75-85-100horse ???

Falicon has a 5 mill stroker crank that you can use any off the shelf piston of your choice, have the head ported and run 41/34 valves, get a set of dual carbs with the bmw intake, pick a nice set of cams to go with the above and you'll be happy for a good while. Estimated @ $2500 on the low side, parts only..., no labor.

If your on a tight budget, get a pipe and carb and ride the **** out of it.

I was just showing you where a lot of people think the hot dune quads are going. The DS engine responds well to mods and is very reliable, but will never be like these street bike conversions.

You said you are looking for a dunable drag bike? How far into the engine do you want to get?

A good place to start research is with Jeff THEBOMB racing, Ron Wood or omwracing. All are great to deal with and can help you build good power.

Search this forum for carb mods it you are sticking with the stock carb. Also search for piston, porting, intake, etc to get an idea of what can be done.

Good luck, this forum has helped me build a great all around DS, for amazingly little money.

digging into the motor doesnt really bother me. i've been told to get a 45mm carb so unless someone discourages that, i probably wont stick with stock carb. i'd like to put it on the bottle just didnt know how well they'd respond to it with small mods like carb/exhaust or if they needed port work too.
