the big deal with outlanders is they have the most power, significantly more then your honda. im assuming you have a foreman 500. i would stay with the honda they are bullet proof. and most power in classs, still isnt that much power. they are still only 500's. besides i have neighbours who just got a new outlander 500 and it barely beats my quad. and within months of fairly easy riding it blew a front shock and one small rolover broke all the plastic

My wife rides a 500 outlander, mine is a 650 both 07's We like them real well, They handle great and have lots of power.

My advice to you is the 650, is a better buy. It has a better front suspension, and a lot more power, and only cost $600 or $700 more.

Read then trade. 500 shoot out.

The think I don,t like about the 500 twin is it has to be reved to get its power,A one lunger in the small 500cc would be better for slow rock clawling and such. 500cc seems small for a Utility ATV to be a twin cyclinder.

If i were you i would stick with Honda it's bullit proff , my first atv was a 86' Honda TRX350 Foreman ; and it was still going strong when i sold it to my brother in Nov. 2005 ! I had a 1993 Suzuki LTF4WD 300 KQ , it was bullit pruff also i sold it to my brother for his wife to ride one week after i bought my 3rd quad ; i bought a 2006 Arctic Cat 400 FIS Auto with the Suzuki 376cc engine and duramatic beltdriven clutch on Feb. 7th 2006 and i love it !

The Cat has the Suzuki engine and the Cat warranttee that clinched the knot on the AC ; plus i had dealt with and known the Cat dealer since she was 4 yrs old ! And before she became a Cat Dealer in 2001 , she had gotten part's for me at less than half price what all the other dealers wanted ; and she gave me free info on any brand atv or motorcyle free !

And she was never wrong about anything i asked her about , she was riding motocross at 4 yrs. old and won her first national championship at 8 yrs. old riding Can Am bike's ; her Dad and older brother were the first Can AM Dealer in Ga. !

So there's nothing wrong with the Rotax engine , Can Am was what my AC dealer rode for along time ; untill she was sponcered by the bigger brands !

I've just heard that on the Outlander's you have to add your own skid plates to them , unless you order them as an option ; and i've heard some of the big 4's don't come with skid plates as stock quads either ! I've only heard this from other members of these forums , so don't take this as gospel ; because all 3 of the quads i've owned came with the skids from the factory !

I try to stick to what i know for sure , but sometimes i may say something that i've just heard about in general ; so the final choice is up to you to make because you're the one who will have to live with the choice you make ! .............

My Wifes 500 Outlander has good low end power, and it dosn't have to be reved up to get its power. She can stick with my 650 off the line.

oldboy i'm with you on the outlander having plenty of power , like in my first reply my AC dealer rode motocross on a Can Am in the late 60's ; and it was Rotax engine the same make engine that Can Am BRP use in the outlanders only bigger engines ! So there nothing wrong with the power of the Rotax engine , infact cc for cc they put out more than all brands built today ; i suggested sticking with Honda because i've owned Honda and Suzuki and i know that both these brands are bullit pruff engine and chassis !

So no Brand bashing here from me , i just wanted you to know that all the big brand name's are good machines ; you can lemons in any machine ! .............
