Default Is there a REAL fix for the voltage regulators on 05 & earlier Outlanders?

It seems obvious that it's a common problem for Outlander 400 owners who have 2005 and earlier models. Mine has not had a problem with the voltage regulator YET, but I go riding in some pretty remote areas and I don't want it to fry out on me in the middle of nowhere.

From what I gathered, 04 and earlier had a voltage regulator mounted out front on the quad. In 05, they moved it to the back (where mine is) and said "problem solved". Now I hear for 07 and up there is a completely redesigned regulator being used. I called a dealership about this, and they claim that my factory '05 piece is the redesigned unit and that it wont give me any problems like the 04 and earlier ones are known for. That is contrary to what I have read on here and other forums.

So what exactly am I supposed to do to fix this before I have a problem?

There were two updates. One was to move the stock regulator to the back of the machine. This was the first one and found NOT to be the end all. They did infact change the regulator and harness afterwards and kept it mounted in the back.

This is not new news and your machine should have had this done. PM me your serial # and I can run it through bossweb to see if it was infact done. Should have been under warranty as it was a warranty bulletin at the time.
