When I ordered from hetrick they did not say anything about the clutch kit except 1000rpm spring. No options or anything about weighting. I hope what I get works well. Did you take your quad to the shop OR DID YOU REMOVE the clutch?

I removed the clutch myself (front and back). I haven't bought the clutch compression tool yet so I brought the rear clutch to the shop to have them swap the pulley onto the adjustable clutch with the new spring. I'm guessing you will be getting the same as what I purchased due to tht efact that Hetrick is working with Maximum RPM on this and using the same parts.

well I raced the ds 90x against the eton viper 90r, and let me say I am very disapointed in the ds.After spending $3200.00 on the bike and then $450.00 on performance parts (pipe, clutch and CDI) it is a joke this thing has no power compared to the eton, and the eton is completely stock!!!!! My wife and I raced from our drive way to the neibors driveway one house away which is about 75 yards The Eton pulled the ds from the start and never looked back it was 5 to 6 bike lengths diffrence by the time it was done. I am glad I didnt get rid of the Eton. Just goes to show you that even if it looks fast that dosnt mean it is.

How do you think it will do in the sand after the mods. As long as it will climb the dunes for my 50lb son I will be happy. Hoping to get my parts from hetrick this coming week.

I honestly dont know how it will do, my gut tells me its not going to do very well. We are heading to the dunes next week also but I am bringing the Eton just in case. I dont have much confidence in it right now.

My clutch kit had three springs for the actuall clutch and one large spring for the shaft on the rear assembly.

Thanks lou,
Keep me posted about the sand trip. I will be giving my boy his at pismo beach on april 18th. Reading on this forum I will be upgading exhaust, cdi and clutch before he even sees it. As long as it will climb the dune without getting stuck every five minute I will be happy. I bought a set of kenda sand geckos for it, i'm keeping my fingers crossed. Let me know how it goes.

Lou, you may want to try and change out the springs on the clutch. The different tensil strength of each set changes the outcome of the ride. One set will give you more lowend torque while another set will give more top end speed. My rear clutch housing also has wieght that can be added or removed for more adjustability. You may want to check the backside of your and see if you have brass like set screws (weights) that you can remove. I've been speaking with Maximum RPM and the person there said with all the upgrades (pipe, jets, cdi, roller wieghts and clutch components) the bike output was 110% higher than stock form. We're heading to Glamis this week with the 90x. I'm not looking for top end speed but hopefully the clutch upgrade helps with rolling dune riding.

lowlife, Thanks for the info, I did change the springs on the clutch. I have done everything I can think of I even called Hetrick today to see what they thought. They said the motor has a ton of potental its just a matter of how much money you want to throw at it, He said that they can get 17 hp out of that motor but it would take around $3500.00. I dont have that kind of money (or Time). I think I will put it up for sale after I get back from the dunes next week and just cut my losses. Let us know how your 90 does at glamis.

I ordered a pipe from Hetrick and a CDI should be here next week sometime. I thought I would go ahead and pull the jets out of it and get some bigger ones before all the parts showed up. I pulled the main jet out and there was a #80 in it, went to the can am dealer and they pulled it up on the computer and tells me he cant get that jet because it has a smaller thread than a standard jet. I then went to a motocycle shop and they told me the samething. Does any dody know where to get jets for this bike? I went to Can Ams web page but they dont even list the jet it the micro fish parts locater!!! Whats up with this? Is there a dyno jet jit for this? Or do I have to by a diffrent carb? Any help would be great. Thanks</end quote></div>
