DYNATEK CDI FOR DS650 ?????
#4
Got one, but havent put it on the DS yet, just sitting here on the desk. Had one on my Predator and it ran great, no probs. Plus you can get the programmable ignition software for $99 to make your own curves. Ordered it but havent recieved it yet.
Having some gasket issues at the moment with the DS, and will get the DYNA on once it is sorted out.

When I first got mine I was excited about it, until today. I went to a full stage 2 a couple of months ago and switched from my RW CDI to the Dynatek for the 4 different curves and the limiter. I went to a TM45 at the same time as the upgrades and it has had issues ever since, Hightower has been helping me try to dial it in for a while with no luck. Well today I hooked my RW CDI back up and that cured my high RPM bog/hesitation. My wheeler runs better and stronger than it ever has. It has been extremely frustrating to have spent 300 bucks and gotten a brand new broken CDI from the get go. I only hope I can get my money back for this POS. I'm sure others will have better luck, but I won't buy another Dynatek product.

Ran the DYNA on the dyno the other day, it give some pretty good gains. The stock DYNA curve netted 1-3 hp mid-top end (3hp gain was mid) with no other changes. Curve 1 netted a small gain over the stock DYNA curve. Curve 2 added a hair more mid and a 1 one top. Curve 3 was identical to 2 for the most part. .5hp less mid but 1hp more on top. I would say on a stock programmed DYNA use curve 2 or 3. 3 if you want the most out of the topend. I dont have graphs, cuz it didn't save any of the runs, but I got some video of it on the dyno.

Great info, after I cooled down a little I sent mine back and received a new one in less than a week. I will probably go ahead and re-install it. I hit 9400 RPM this weekend with the RW without trying, so I think the limiter on the Dyna will be something I can use.

Well, I'm 2 for 2 on the Dyna CDI. I took my RW CDI off and installed the Dyna that they had just sent me. At 3/4 to full throttle there is a terrible bog, AGAIN. I'm about 99.9% sure that it isn't anything to do with my DS, because with the Ron Woods it runs like a raped ape. I'm going to call them tommorow to see if I might be doing something wrong, but the install and the curve settings is pretty straight forward. I guess we'll see what they say.
