Default Ds 650 headlight voltage?

I recently had the newer style headlight put on my 01 and it was great. I also had two walmart brand lights on the front of my shrouds. about a month ago I turned on my bike and flipped the lights on and it blew a fuse. After i replaced it, it did it again and again. I checked wires and the lights and wound up re wiring all of it but it still blew the fuses. I replaced the walmart lights with new ones and still had the same thing happen so i took em off. Then my bulbs burnt out (of natural causes) so I replaced them with the silverstar headlights you put in cars and it worked for a while but now it will only push them on low beam, high beam blows the fuse. Does the ds not have a 12v system or is something wrong?

I have the same setup on my 2000. I have the newer style headlight that i run 2 Piaa bulbs in and a set of aftermarket lights mounted to the rad shrouds that i run a set of 55 watt Piaa bulbs in with no problem. Although the set of aftermarket lights are wired to the battery directly with a seperate switch.
