I've heard bad things bout the procom. vortex i've heard little but i think it has programable timing curves, up to 4 is what I heard. I'm gettin the big gun cdi and it has an advanced timing curve and doesn't cause the problems the procom does, like kick back.

i think procomm might have things worked out if they make big gun cdi's.
i've had my big gun for 2 years now and never had a problem with it.</end quote></div>
Procom DOES manufacture the Big Gun, however, the Big Gun has a different timing curve. I don't know if they have changed but he old Procom added advance before 2500 RPM, during startup this would destroy the sprag clutch on false starts, where the engine kicks back. I've not heard anyone on this forum complaining about the Big Gun... there are a bunch of people who have horror stories about the Procom. Last I had heard they had not changed the curve. I have a Vortex but I would feel comfortable running the Big Gun.

well, ain't that a b? but i see the other replies and as long as it doesn't have the kickback problem on startup I'm happy Actually I just got the big gun yesterday. thinkin about riding it with stock cdi then see the difference with the big gun, oh yeah!
