ds 70 shuts off in water
My daughter and I were out riding last weekend and went through some pretty big mud puddles filled with water and ice (Northern Wisconsin). Her ds 70 shut down if she went through a deep puddle too hard. It would start right up after a moment but I don't know what would cause this? The air temps were probable in the 50's but the water may have been almost 20 degress colder. Would the cold water give a warm motor a shock that would make it shut down? As I look at her machine I noticed a couple of male outlets on the left side front of the engine. One had a tube running down to the exhaust pipe but the other had no tube on it. Are these some sort of breather mechanisms? I wondering if the outlet with no tube is more of an intake of sorts and possibly sucked in a little water everytime she hit a deep puddle. I'm not sure what else to think. Also if anyone has the part number for a 2008 ds 90 throttle cable I would appreciate it. If switching out the stock ds-70 cable with the ds 90 provides a bit more giddy-up I'm willing give that a shot. Thanks in advance.

ds 70 shuts off in water
No I haven't but I'll see the dealer this weekend when I pick her machine up from it's 100hr checkup. My honda goes right through icey water with no problem but the ds 70 is a bit simpler than my 420. I though maybe it sucked in a little water since I saw what looked like an open breather outlet right in front of the engine. Hopefully they'll have some answers.
