DS650 project question
#1
Hello everyone, I am new to this site. I have just purchased a 2001 DS650 project. This is one sweet ride (at least i think it will be when its back together). I have read alot of posts on this site and I can't wait to ride this atv.
My question is can anyone give me any suggestions on what manual to buy to reassemble the engine on my bomb?
I bought the ds650 in a box (or buckets lol). The engine was completly tore down. I did find that some of the gears in the transmission had some pitting on them so i purchased a new/used transmission. I also noticed that the rob had a lot of play so i also got a new/used one to replace it. I really need to know what goes where and the specs on the spacers in the transmission. I want to get it back together correctly. I know that if you do not get the spacers/washers in the right places the transmission will not work properly.
So any suggestios would be greatly apperciated. I am sure i will have tons of questions in the future.
Thanks for any help you may have.

Welcome aboard. The best thing to do in your situation is get a shop manual. You can get a computer version for cheap ($20??)or spend a bit more ($75???) and get the factory book to page thru. Enjoy your toy.

Also do a search on Hightower on here, he is a member and has picture perfect step by step directions on how to reasemble the trans. Once it is together you will love the power and the ride.

Thank you all for the great ideas. I am going to go the shop manual way. Oh that bikebandit.com trick works good too i have used it before on my other quads. Again thank you all for the response. I am really looking foward to riding the monster.
