DS650 carburator issues?????
#1
Ok question is this: New to the world of DS650's I bought a 2000 DS650 from a guy that bought it directly from ALBA Motorsports new, has Ron Woods exhaust, K&n fiter and air intake scoop things. So heres the problem. It hauls *** off the the line, but falls flat on it's face in 3rd gear. It's got nothin'!!!! So I had the carb cleaned and rejetted, but it seems to be worse. I also have a 15 tooth sprocket on the front instead of the stock 16 tooth, and smaller tires on the back. Does this sound like a "fuel/air" issue that just needs to be dialed in?? Or maybe something else??

I don't know what TM45 or RWR means sorry, I the rear tires are smaller than stock and the front sprocket is 1 tooth smaller. I dont know what the main jet is now because I just took it the mechanic that works at the dealer, but doesn't specialize in the DS650 so we are trying to work together to figure it out. I just bought a Dyno kit for it, but it comes with stages 1 & 3, but my bike is stage 2

RWR is Ron Woods Racing. Those were the parts you mentioned. The TM45 is the Carb that he uses.... If you are a stage 2, then you have some other work done to the motor also, and if you have that Carb I do not believe the jet kit will work in it. The TM45 and stock carb use different sized mikuni jets

Yes it has Ron Woods Racing exhaust, but I believe it is the stock carb. Like I said I don't know much about quads, just getting into the hobby. And this machine is like a whole other language.
