Default DS650 Question

Just remmeber that the DS650 is not just for the larger guys, I'm only 155 pounds and I throw my DS around very easy out on the trail. I would go for the DS650. You will not be disapointed...

Default DS650 Question

The DS does spoil you over time. I thought my Sport 400 gave me plenty of room. After riding my DS solidly for a few months, I got back on my sport 400 and it felt cramped - kind of like riding a mini (Only your knees don't hit the bars). The Banshee and raptor are both ergonomically (and physically) smaller than that, so I can only imagine riding one of those would be like I'm riding a Star Wars Big Wheel again (But without the cool plastic tires and rear handbrake for those 180's).

I'm in the same ballpark with Fat Holly and 6'3", and the DS fits....oh so nicely.

Default DS650 Question

I'am only 160 lbs and 6'7" and love the DS. I ride with a raptor 660 and use to ride with a kawasaki 700. The raptor is a nice bike but it can barely stay with the 700. The only things that beat my stock DS in a 300 foot drag was a yfz 450 with a aftermarket pipe and another DS 650 with a aftermarket pipe. And i have raced many quad on that drag strip and never got beat by a predator, and the one even had a pipe.

But to compare the raptor and the DS. The reason i choose a DS over the raptor was b/c the ds had a smoother ride , faster and more torque. The raptor was too narrow but it does jump nicly and has plenty of torque. But once you take them for the ride you will see why the DS is better

Trotch do you still have your stock exhaust on it.
Well you are running lean if your backfire meaning the air to fuel mixture is wrong you are dumping too much fuel in. Does it do it when your idealing or running thru your gears? Ducky

i said that wrong, you do not have enough fuel for the amount of air. adjusting the carburator will fix that.

Troch, first thing we need to know is your elevation. Also I would say a 200 is waaay too rich no matter where you're riding. I ran a 180 at close to sea level in Glamis and it was about perfect. So your backfiring is probably because of being too rich. let us know about your elevation and I'll try to help. Also maybe you should try a big gun or Vortex cdi box.

Default DS650 Question

Hey ducky, exaust is a complete after market stage 4 system! The backfire does not happen on the acceleration it happens when u get off the throttle, And all this started to happen just by putting an after market cdi on the bike. Was told from a guy who races the same ds quad that there are not alot of aftermarket cdi's that work properly on these motors. So i am gonna try a stock cdi box to see what happens!

Your sea level could be anywhere between sea level and 2200 ft according to the site I was looking at. Try a 185 main with no lid or a 175 with lid.
