i just purchased a ds 90 x for my kid, and i would like to find out if there is a light kit and maybe pipe, etc. Anybody got any thing? also any good or bad info about these. thanks.

 

Maximum rpm and hetrick racing for pipe, cdi and clutch kits. I have bought all three and have not yet tried them . The first day my son rode his the motor seized. It took about two months for the rebuild but seems to be running fine. Top end is actuaslly quite fast, its just takes a litttle to get there. It seems a bit faster since the rebuild. Will try the parts soon.

 

wow,that is totally not what I wanted to hear!! Were you able to figure what the cause of the seizure was? I like the little quad, but I don't know the brp products very well. Ours still has not been ridden much yet so after hearing your situation I'm a little nervous. Were there any symptoms or indications that it was going to "crap out" before it did?

 

While they were rebuilding it they found the oil pump gear that was cracked. I think that had to of done it. It was all warrantied. It seems to be running fine now. I am just waiting to put all of the aftermarket parts on.

 

did you buy the pipe from hetrick, or did you buy the FMF? I think the FMF is a little less expensive, but I don't know if one is better than the other. Have you had any other problems? I am taking mine back to the dealer tomorrow because the parking brake is so stiff that the park-brake button shaved the corner right off the brake handle!! Now the park-brake does not work, and the neutral indicator light doesn't work, and the reverse indicator light has popped out of the little ignition bezzle. We haven't even thaken this thing out riding anywhere but our backyard! One other thing....does yours feel like the springs in the CVT are a little on the stiff side?? I realize they are suppose to help out the bottom end, but it seems like if they were the next lighter springs that they would save a little MPG and give a better range of power. You should install your parts this wkend a let me know how it works out!!(hehehehe) Talk to ya later.
