Default Which tires and size (went with 22" DDII)

I'm a ways out from replacing my stock rears but I've been looking and thinking which to get when it's time. I'm thinking of bumping up to 22's and a more aggressive pattern than ***** for trail riding. With the stock 20's on the rear it seems like i'm always dragging my brake guard or completly hanging it up. Any feedback or advice would be apprecited. I've got an '06 ds650x all stock besides k&n.

You cannot go wrong with the Holeshot XCT 6 plys. 22" tall and 11" wide, nice and meaty to grab anything you need to get ahold of. I'd go witht he 23" fronts also just to gain that extra ground clearance all the way around. Saves wear and tear on the sprocket and rotor skids.

I liked my Maxxis Razor2s. Both them and the holeshots are great tires.

My 22" GBC Dirt Devil AT tires hook up on everything (Stones, Loose Dirt, Loose dirt over hardpack, mild sand, deep snow, grass, pavement). I ride some trails that get pretty muddy and very rutty from time to time and have yet to be stuck with my DS. They last very well, too! I'd buy them again.

I like the look od the dirt devils. Sport, when you went to a 14 tooth did you end up close to stock gearing? Stock is 16?

The 14t and 22's is actually a little higher numerically than stock, which makes better use of the engine's power at the expense of flat out top speed. I never top out in 5th anyway, so why not improve acceleration, right? If I could find a 42t rear for a song, I would buy that, too.

Also I ran 22 inch mud machines almost all the time for all around riding they were great. Hard pack, loose, mud, snow. They would go through it all. But I had 22 inch Maxxis razor2s that I would put on for just trail/track riding, that was the only thing they really would beat the mud machines. I ran a 14T front spocket with my 22s and liked it much better than stock 20s and 16T. Plus when I would run in the sand with 22s I ran the 14T. Speaking of, I still have the 14T in my basement with no DS to put it on.
