Can you tell where the oil is coming from? Are you certain it was oil, and not coolant?

im positive its oil, it soaked my boots ,pants and nerf bars, i cant tell were it came from, when it first happened i did think it was the radiator because of the sound, it sound like steam under presure when, what ever it was that blew, but when i looked down and saw the smoked and felt my leg burning i new it was oil.

When I blew my motor last December, I had a ton of coolant mixed oil coming out of my crankcase vent. Then the knocking sounds started, and I figured the motor was toast. I was right. Hopefully, you just have a hose that came loose or has a slit in it somewhere. Hard to tell what's going on until you figure out where the oil is coming from.

i found the problem. on the top of the engine just above the spark plugs, you know that black rubber gasket, it gave out. i wonder if those screws come loose to make that gasket go out, or how often do you need to replace that gasket.

Is the leak coming from the valve cover gasket or from the head gasket? First thing I would try is to clean everything up real well with a degreaser, and then re-torque all of the bolts. Has the head ever been off?
