that dang ds650 battery
#1
ive had nothing but problems with the stock battery since the day i bought it.
after not riding for over a month last friday i went to my property and rolled my ds out of the shed and she started right up(very surprised)on the first try.
rode it for about 10 minutes and parked it outside the cabin for the night.
these days its getting around 30-35 at night. sat went out to ride and it wouldnt stay running. would crank over great, but rev it up a little and it would die so trying to figure it out i killed the battery. so i was pissed right off. ''she was running great last night'' you know. i drained the carb and turned off the gas.
then put her away and rode my 2000 artic cat 400 4x4 instead.
so friday i went back up and took out the battery, cleaned up the terminals and trickle charged it for 6-8 hours put it back in and she started right up. ran it for about 10 sec and reved it up and she died i was heartbroken sat there for a minute and was contemplating what the hell was wrong. then i rememberd that i turned off the gas. finaly she ran and i took her on a nice ride and washed her up.

When you buy a new battery, the Odyssey PC545 is the best one to get, according to most people. Whenever my quads are parked, I am able to have a Battery Tender hooked up to them, and have never had a battery problem. I only ride them maybe four weekends a year, so they are sitting a good portion of the year.
