Default sprockets?

I want to change my front sprocket to a 15 or 14, the shop book says I need to change my rear sprocket and chain with it. I found some cheap sprocket at Rocky mountain atv like 20 bucks. I hate to replace my good rear sprocket with a cheap one. Has anyone just replaced their chain and front sprocket? I dont have the money for a good rear sprocket yet.

I dont see why you would have to, I have just changed out my front and been fine. I'm still running stock chains on both my bikes. You'll ba happy with that 15t also =]

Just buy a 8.99 front sprocket from RMATV in 15 or 14 or both just for fun, then bolt it right on! All you need to do is adjust the chain. You don't need a new chain or a new rear sprocket. Have fun!

If you do install the 14t sprocket you WILL have to remove one link, I say this from personal experience. Had to do it to mine in St. A's about 3 yrs ago.

Not true!! I have never had that problem at all. Most people I have talked to say that they have not had that problem but there is the occasional DS that needs to drop a tooth. I'm thinking it was maybe the 2000's so it might be a possibility for you everlast.

If you only drop one tooth, no will not have to cut out one link, but if you drop two you will. When I ran the 15t I had no problems, when I put the 14t on I had to cut out one link.

Default sprockets?

I got beat by a hona 400 08 I never got to 5th gear but he was in 5th before we ran out of track. I got the new rev box so Im trying to figure out when to shift. I,ll beat him top end, should I try the 15 or the 14 front sprocket he only beats me by a bike I would rather get to 60mph quicker than 70mph later any help or does the 15 make that much of a difference? Silverbomb help you are the man! I looked at the 520 kit ti and it was like 320. I have itp hole shot hd 6 ply they probably weight 12 pounds a tire is that my problem? If I have to cut a link for the 14 tooth sprocket can I just get a master link at auto zone? Or do you just recomend the 15 tooth? Sorry for so many questions.

Honestly I would just try out a 15 tooth sprocket for what you're doing. You'll notice the DS will be quicker and you'll be shifting quicker, but with a rev box you can use each gear a little longer. You will like the difference a 15 makes, so go for it! P.S. be careful not to land on your back, the 15 will make you wheely easier. LOL
