sprockets?
great info on this thread. I have been looking for some more top end speed to my DS. I put a K&N filter on and a power tip. I am into long desert races (i am signed up for the Vegas to Reno 1000 miler in August with two other teammates) and really want an all around performer for the quad. My DS can take a beating and keep going but I would have thought I'd get 75+ MPH top end at least. With the throttle pegged, I am getting 66 (on a flat surface) both on my speedometer and on a GPS device that is really accurate. Am I crazy that my DS should go much faster? Would a different sprocket work for this or would it just get me from 0 to 60 faster? thanks!

You should be much faster than that. One thing you need is a CDI box, which not only increases your RPM limit but adds a couple or so HP. Even at stock you should be into the upper 70's for top speed. I'm thinking you might already have a smaller than stock front sprocket also causing your slower speed. So CDI and make sure you have a 16t front sprocket and that should put you well into the 70's if not more.
