is my fan working correctly?
#1
hey fella's, I was reading in another forum and a guy was asking about somethings to look 4 when he bought his new ds.Someone told him to make sure his fan was working properly.Well,i got to thinking about it and i only remember maybe twice hearing it come on.Thats even in the summer running it like i stole it! Does that sound right? I've never had a problem with it.Still runs like the day i bought it.Just kinda got me thinking. any input? thanx

I HAVE A 2000 DS AND MY FAN WOULD KICK ON EVERYTIME I STOPPED AFTER A HARD RIDE IN THE SUMMER. THEN I WENT TO GLAMIS ON NEW YEARS AND THE FAN NEVER KICKED ON FOR 4 DAYS I WAS THERE. I CROSSED OVER THE TERMINALS ON THE SENDING UNIT AND NOTHING WOULD HAPPEN SO I TOOK OFF THE FAN AND WIRED IT STRAIGHT TO A BATTERY AND IT WAS SHOT. COST ME 156.00

as long as its comming on,and your temp-oil light are not on you should be O.K..I got my DS from the dealer with a bad fan.I never heard my fan come on,and my oil temp light was comming on.I took it back to the dealer and they put a new one on.They told me that it would blow a fuse every time it would try to kick on.
