DS650 Carb Spring Revisited

Hesitation and/or bogging in 2000 model DS650's was said to be fixed by stretching the carb spring from around 25mm to around 35mm. I tried this a while back and got good results.
Recently I purchased the 2001 carb spring and assumed that using the 2001 carb spring without stretching it would solve the same problem. I am having some bogging problems under load/hard acceleration and am suspicious that the 2001 carb spring may need to be stretched just like the 2000 carb spring, although I haven't tried this yet. Does anyone know if you need to stretch the 2001 carb spring the same way that the 2000 carb spring was stretched?

Scooby, i put the new update spring and mainjet nozle shroud, and also a larger starter jet in mine and it worked great! Im running K+N filter with outerwears in the air box without a lid.I believe the starter jet was a 45 but not 100%.Main jet size 180 at 3200 feet! hope this helps.Possibly could you have gotten bad gas such as moisture, or fouled plugs, just a thought!
hope this helps.

I'm guessing you didn't measure the 2001 spring? I'd be curious to know if it was a different length. It's also possible that the spring may have only been say 30 mm or something, if it got compressed in shipping or something. Not likely, but a thought. I'll know more about 2001's, hopefully after this weekend.

300exster,the part#s for 2001 spring & cup are;707200147 & 707200148.
It would be nice if some one put the parts catalog on the internet. This could save riders & dealers alot of time when someone needed to get something for their DS.ANYONE?
Scooby,I could be wrong but I dont think the 2001 carb. spring gets stretched. When I installed the updated parts did not stretch spring& everything seems OK.

Hey thanks a bunch for the part numbers, i really appreciate it. What do you mean by the "CUP" what is that? And when you say "carb springs" (scooby) what exactly are you talking about, exactly what spring? The slide spring or float bowl spring?
