Default 08 or 09 Renegade 800 which is faster ?

I'm looking to purchase a renegade 800 within the next few weeks. Can anyone offer their experience with this match up, 08 or 09. Anyone have any hard evidents that one is faster than the other? I'm a little nervous about the revised low end power stated with the 09's. Thanks for your help.

PULL I was told the 09's have 7hp over the 08's... ive not seen them run and it was a can-am dealer that told me this information.. the cam had been changed up in them.

What Yama said is true, so I'd think the 09 is faster.

I also heard that they were supposed to redesign the cam. They wanted to over power the artic cat 1000. I don't see 7hp coming out of a cam change but I bet 09s will be faster then 08. That said, I would think 08 would have more low end power then 09.

different cam,ecu and bigger intake for the 09. also the 09 has a tammer bottom end so the 08 will take the 09 out of the hole... but the 09 will catch in mid-range.

but if you play with the clutchin, the 09 can be a different beast!

The 09 is faster in 300 foot and 500 foot runs. There is suttle difference in the bottom ends but it really a lot of the complaints on the 09 was stemed from the Can-am mixup in production that lead to them setting the thottle limitting screws in on the first few months of production. If you take the thottle screw out or set it where it is not limmiting the throttle, the 09 800Rs do have right at 10% more power than the 800HO models. Both machines are fast but the 09 if given the same mods will always be the faster of the 2.

There is a good video on you tube with an 07 and a 09 drag racing. They were pretty much bar to bar the whole time...300 and 500 feet. I was told by a dealer the 08 is a tad quicker to about 30 mph, then the 09 will start to pull away. He said the 09 is a full second faster to 60 mph.

If it is the Vid I am thinking it is, that was prior to everone figuring out the whole thottle screw deal. I am not sure if the full second deal is true or not. But if it were 300 foot is around 50mph so that would be pretty close to what I have seen with racing an 06 vs an 09 Outlander setup identical.
