Valve Questions
how loose can your valve guides be and still be ok to run? I slide the valve in until it hits the seal and measure the side to side movement and i get .005" i have 2 heads and all 8 valves measure the same. I think the manual says .001 max and you have to replace the head because the guides are not replaceable. Does anyone know if the HPR shim under kit uses stock valves? I bought a used kit and it has stock valves in it.

Valve Questions
i pressed mine out, my buddy owns a bike repair shop, so i stop by and use his tools, it shouldn't cost that much to have new ones installed, if you dont have the right set up, i wouldnt take the chance. buy the guides and take them to a machine shop, have them installed when you do a valve job. i'm going to run +1
valves . i removed mine because i epoxyed my intake runners to raise intake velocity. and wanted as much room to work as possible. and one of the guides was cracked . bought the head used. while you have it apart might as well pocket port them. right under the valve slide your finger in feel the casting lines. it should be smooth rolling into the combustion chamber , dont remove any more than it takes to smooth them out, and dont take any out of the runners . the head where the intake goes there is a dirty line where it doesn't line up make it match. it will be better than stock, not as good as a high $ job but if this is all you do , you wont hurt your performance by mistake. hope this helps. btw a valve job costs me 60 $
last time.

Valve Questions
to finish answering your first question, the shin under kit will work with any size valves, and doesn't come with valves, the valve stem is the same size reguardless. if that is what you were asking. i take my stuff to a local machine shop, and cut out the middle man, bike/quad shops dont useally do there own machine work so if there is only one big shop around take your parts directly to them, and save some $
