Default Is Ron Woods Racing CDI box any good

"DS650 Need Help, with RWR CDI issue"! ASAP from some of the DS650 riders, or any one that has a for stroke that may or may not use Ron Woods racing Stage 2 kitt.

I assumed taking my bike to a shop then work on it my self, but I'm starting to think the mechanics are sticking us with these high priceses. It cost more to have these quads work on then working on a POV.

I've been having Bogging issues with my DS650 for a while now. so I finnally desided to take it to the shop to have work done on it. The shop I tried to take it to first is the shop that installed Ron Woods Racing Stage 2 kitt in Chino Ca. But it's been a while, so when I drove by the shop The bulding was closed down, and the company moved, so I went to a diffrent place closer to my house In Ontario Ca. Well I gotten taken through the ringer. I told the mechanic about my Bike issue, and he took it out for a test ride. When he came back from around his building I heard my Bike do the same to him as it was doing me. So thats was plus. It could rain perfect for him and made me look like the fool I am.

When the mechanic came back he had the winning sullution, and I beleaved him, what else can I do? he knows this stuff better then I do. So know I have a 720cc 105mm bore with JE pistons, upgraded, titanium rings, and for an editional $400 I had the heads Port, and polished. Well after all that work that was done the problem was never resolved. It's still puttering, and Bogging out. "Thank goodness its only around the corner'', but I've been back, and forth trying to figure out the problem.

Well last week a friend found the shop that had moved out of Chino, and moved over to Chino Hills. I went to the shop, and told the mechanic what I've been going through. He figured out that it was the Ron Woods CDI box shorting out.

Since the mechanic around the corner never fixed the problem, but upgraded me with $1800 in new useless upgrade should I get my money back? I have to wait another week to get the CDI ship to me from Ron Woods. I would have been more happy paying $400 for a new CDI box rather then spending $1800 to be in the same position I'm in now. with a bike with issue's.

Can I get a oppenuion What would you guys do?

Let the buyer beware is a pretty good saying. The guy may have sold you a bunch of stuff you didn't need but he didn't twist your arm. I say you learned a valuable lesson and actually got some good stuff out of it. Seems like you should have known that bogging wouldn't be cured by the stuff he did to it. That's usually spark or carb.

Well if this is the whole story, then you might have some ground to stand on, especially with a written statement from the original mechanic. But odds are, probably not. Sorry. But I wouldnt buy in to this "should of known better" bs. If your young and inexperienced and dont know anything about motors, how can anyone say that? About the only good you can really take from this is, it was a learning experience.

One thing I would definitely do though if I were you, is report them to the Better Business Bureau and try to keep the next guy from getting screwed.

Good Luck!!

I would be unhappy but at the same time, when you get that cdi workin sounds like your bike will rip pretty hard, even if you tried to get your money back, you probably wouldn't so might as well look at this as a positive thing and not as if you got ripped off.

Thanks guys, You guys are right. I can only suck it up, and keep it pushing. But I got one little trick up my sleeve. I have a Lakota sport 300 in his shop. He will make it up to me by fixing my Lakota sport, and eatting the labor price for sure. I'll only pay for Hard Parts. And as far as my CDI box I get another one free Thank goodness. I belieave it was a factory defect. I value all your appinions thanks, ATV connection is awsome!
