polishing frame

Default polishing frame

as anyone ever polished their frame or a-arm anything on there ds or atv how hard is or how do you do it thanks thinking about doing it to my but dont really dont know how

Pretty hard to polish steel and get a good finish. You would be better off having it powder coated or ceramic coated to get the same effect.

polishing is simple enough. Strip what ever parts you want to bare metal and hit it with a buffing wheel and some buffing compound.
Doing an entire frame at home would probably drive a man insane. An a-arm wouldnt be hard but it will more than likely rust unless you clear coat it.
Powder coating and chroming are easier but might get expensive.

Not trying to be Smarta**...but why would you care to polish the frame?

Too Late... You're already a smart a$$ :-)



Even if you stripped the frame, cleaned it, polished it, & clear coated it.... Every time something chipped the clearcoat, it would start to rust really fast.. You would be better off, cleaning, priming, & painting it, then using a lot of clearcoat over the paint for a nice finish...
