My brother has a 2007 outlander 500, so far I had never heard any problems from him with that machine.

My wife had a 07 500, it had issues with the gear box, it was tore down 3 times before they got it fixed. Also the front suspension is inferior, for a few $$$ more you can get a 650 with the wish bone and a gas shock front end, it handles and stears much better. The 500 has struts in the front.
We got ride of it after a couple seasons, and got her a new 07 650 she loves it. It was a $3000. mistake.

thanks guys. I went ahead and bought it. it has 250 miles and just had some normal scuff marks with a warranty till may 2010 for $4200.00. my wife loves it and i think we did ok with the buy. As long as she has fun on it,its worth it.

well we took it out today and 2 miles into the ride at 20 mph, the bike started to over heat. The fan wasn't on and i checked the fuses.nothing wrong there,so i took it to my dealer and they hooked it up to check the fan and it worked,so he looked at the two fuses in the rear(which i didn't know about) and the aux. fuse was corroded. checked it again, fan came on and we were on our way to test it out again. Well it made 3 miles this time and the temperature light came back on and it seems as though the fan only works when it wants to. When the light came on the fan was off,so i checked the fuse and it was ok, but after a little bit of sitting there so it can cool off,it kicked on. I'm just gonna take it to the dealer on monday since its got a warranty still, but i thought id let you all know.
