im still waiting to hear what the issue is. to me,it looks like it would need a larger radiator to help with it overheating. My arctic cat 700 and 500 both have a larger radiator and never had either over heat. the can am's radiator is half the size. On the other hand, they are designed to run that way i guess. im gonna try some of that engine ice also. Hopefully they will get it figured out and we can enjoy some riding. Oh the other thing is the start button wont work sometimes either. Before i bought this bike i heard nothing but good things about them, but after i bought it im finding more problems with them than any other brand. I know mine is used ,but with only 260 miles on it,it shouldn't have any issues.

need to make sure fan is operating as it should be, the can am's have a crappy temp sensor in em, if everything is operating right the can ams usually never get hot

they called me back today with the issues i was having. While hooked up to the diagnostics machine he made sure the fan came on at 218 degrees, and it did. He also wanted to make sure it turned off at 213 degree, and it didnt. The temp finally got up to 230 degrees and they shut it off. The reason it overheated is b/c the radiator was swollen. the little rails that the coolant flows through were expanded so much it closed off the air flow which caused it to overheat. So they got a new one coming under warranty. The start button wouldnt work simply because the switch was bad. easy enough. while in there he checked compression and both cylinders, while turning one cylinder off, then the other to make sure each were firing correctly.( i thought that was pretty cool that they can do that) everything else checked out good.

the most impressive thing to me about can ams diagnostic software (BUDS) is that it has a feature in it that records in detail the last minute that the engine was running. so if joe redneck comes in and says he was idling around the yard and the bike just blew the crank out of it all the tech has to do is look at the software to see engine speed, vehicle speed, temp, etc. good stuff
